… is a senior researcher and project leader at the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. She graduated from the University of Graz in translation and interpretation studies. She holds a PhD from the University of Vienna in translation studies with a specialization in the field of terminology and corpus linguistics. She is involved in a number of European and national research projects in the field of language resources and language technology. … is a researcher at the E-Commerce Research Unit at TU Wien. She holds a Master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Vienna and a PhD in Computer Science from TU Wien. Her research focuses on modeling and predicting complex human behavior, user opinions, preferences and social relations as well as their dynamics in digital-enabled environments. In recent projects, she studied social influence mechanism in online communities, the diffusion of topics, opinions and sentiments, social media-based event prediction, team performance, news recommender systems as well as picture-based travel recommender systems. Since 2013, she has been a regular visiting researcher at the Science of Networks in Communities (SONIC) research group at Northwestern University, USA. Dr. Andreas Baumann

… is a lecturer at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Vienna. He studied Mathematics as well as General and Applied Linguistics and holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Vienna. Andreas does research on computational and mathematical modeling of language change and evolution. In recent projects, he has worked on population dynamic as well as data driven, experimental and cognitive approaches to change in phonology, phonotactics, and the lexicon. … is a web developer at the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage and is working on the DYLEN application. She studied computer science at the University of Vienna where she also worked as a student assistant and tutor. During her studies, Katharina focused on data science, visualization and document analysis and worked as a full-stack developer on various projects for schools and museums. Her fields of interest include visualization, human computer interaction, natural language processing, semantic web, science communication and linguistics.

Before his time at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Martin worked for a publishing company in the legal sector. … is a computational linguist who has been working in numerous national and international research projects, and thus gained expertise in a wide range of topics, e.g. natural language processing, speech synthesis, embodied conversational agents, markup-languages, and semantic-web technologies. At the ACDH, he currently is concerned with the Austrian Media Corpus and with the semi-automatic corpus-based enhancement of dictionaries.

… is a researcher in linguistics at the University of Vienna and a member of the project group “DYLEN: Diachronic Dynamics of Lexical Networks”. He studied English and History at the University of Vienna, where he also worked as a pre-doc research assistant at the Department of English and American Studies between 2013 and 2019. His research interests are in English historical linguistics, phonology, corpus linguistics, and the dynamics of linguistic change more generally. He also teaches courses on phonology and semantics, as well as the history of English at Vienna University.

… was a software developer at the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and responsible for development and design of software solutions. He graduated from the University of Vienna with a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Before joining the ACDH, he worked in various client, agency and corporate projects involving frontend, backend and mobile development. His fields of interest include information management technologies, web and mobile application development, user experience and human-computer interaction, visual arts, media studies and literature.
